Domestic Landscapes is a photographic project.
It is a project about people.
It is a project about Europeans.
It is about originality and personality.
It is also about color, scent, taste, sound, and texture.
It is about faith, hope and love.
It is about culture.
It is about cultural similarities and about cultural differences.
It is about identity.
It is about history and it is about the future.
It is about them and about us: about you and about me.
It is about homemade wine and ham and cheese and olives.
It is about respect and disrespect.
It is out of respect.
Out of respect to the generation that created us and raised us.
A generation that vanished and with it a way of life.
A way of life that our generation throws away like something disposable.
This is about now.
This is marking time.
This is not a cry for old days.
This is a critical sound.
This is about Europeans.
This is about unity, not uniformity.
It is about us.
It is about me.
Due to the new European rules and regulations, all the different European cultures and identities will undergo a change. The rules and regulations are being made in Brussels to make sure that each member of the European Community (EC) will get the same opportunity to import and export the goods they need and want to sell. These rules and regulations go across borders, cultures, traditions and habits and will inevitably change Europe once again. That Europe has so many different kinds of cultural identities will surprise no one; that all these many different identities also resemble each other tremendously, however, may surprise even more people. Whatever the differences, we are all Europeans and we resemble each other in this. The people you are looking at now are the generation that made Europe into what it is today. From here it will be our responsibility. I am just looking at it now and marking time. It helps me to find my place in it all.
