머...아무도 인정치 않으리라 생각은 되지만, 내가 아는 작업중에서는 가장 여성스러운 작업이다. 모성이란 것 혹은 아이를 배태해서 세상에 내어 놓는단 메카닉을 객관스런 잔인으로 뒤집으면 가능할 것같다는, 물론 이불을 보는 시각의 일면일뿐이지만.

이불,최정화,그리고 김기덕 감독 세사람 의 작업에서 느껴지는 유사한 무엇들... 성장과정에서 문제가 심각하게 있었던 사람들에게서 볼 수있는 엽기적 ? 이상취향? 전 이런게 느껴지는데....
김기덕의 성장과정에 문제가 있었다는건 김기덕 스스로도 토로 한적있었고, 그 문제가 그의 작업에 면면히 묻어 나오고 있다는건 이미 익히 알려져있지요...
셋의 공통점은 정신적으로 좀 건강하지 못한 사람들이란 생각이 드는데...
열분들은 어찌 느끼시는지요?
모 작가들이 꼭, 반드시 건강한 정신의 소유자 이어야 한다는 애긴 아닙니다.^^
다만 그런성향의 작가들이 유명세를 구가하는 현상에 대해 이거 잘못 가고 있는건 아닌가 하는 의심이 들어서 그러지요.^^
우리?가 중병든게 아닌가 하는 생각말입니다.

이불 작가 작업보면 표현이 너무 직설적이다란 생각이들어요.너무 빤 하다는거지요. 뭐든 고급화되면 직설적이지않고 은유적이던데....
기냥 뱉어내는게 아닌가요?
김기덕이 그러는 것처럼...
김기덕한테 상준게 쿠엔틴 타란티노란 쌩날라리란걸 생각해보면,예술계돌아가는 게 감이 잡히기도 허구....

서구 영화제에서 김기덕의 수상은 다분히 서양애들의 오리엔탈리즘이 그 저변에 있다고 생각되는군요.수년전 임권택 감독의 수상도 같은 경우라 생각됩니다.
두 사람의 영화적 완성도가 많이 떨어진다는 평은 많은 전문가들의 공통된 진단입니다..
두사람에 비해 박찬욱은 탄탄한 영화적 완성도를 갖고 있는 경우입니다.
어떤 주제를 다루더라도 해당분야의 장인으로서의 태도는 견지되어야할거 같습니다.
박찬욱은 다소 엽기적 소재를 다뤘지만 아주 매끄럽게 영화를 만들었지요.
후학들의 바람직한 벤치마킹 해볼 모델을 말하라면 김기덕보단 박찬욱쪽을 애기하고 싶습니다. 실제 많은 후학들이 선호하는 감독이 박찬욱이기도 합니다.

그리고 타란티노가 생 날라리-오리엔탈리즘에빠져 허우적 거리고 있는거, 맞습니다.
"킬빌"같은 최근작을 보면 여실히 드러나지요.

사실 전..이불이 좀 과장된 작가가 아닌가 생각합니다..불편한 나르시즘과 과장된 센세이셔널리즘..아직 관객으로서의 느낌일 뿐이지만..사실 그의 현재의 명성에 걸맞는 비평적 논증은 거의 보지 못한거 같아요..

smellliket님이 말 하셨듯, 명성에 걸맞는 비평적 논증을 보기 어려운 이유는, 이불님의 작업이 개념적이기 보다는 시각적인 대중성을 의식해 이뤄져온 작업이기때문이 아닌가 합니다.
다양한 표현 방법만큼이나 변화하는 작업의 메시지를 보면, 가끔 앞뒤가 맞지 않는 경우를 보곤 하거든요.
마케팅적인 부분또한 상당히 신경쓰고 있는 듯합니다. 그냥 소심한 시민의 지껄임이었습니다. 좋은 밤, 긴 밤^^

떡볶이 가게에서 떡볶이만 파는 거 봤소? 요즘은 이불가게에서 쿠션도 판다오. 암튼 사계가 있기에 한국에서는 이불장사도 꽤 짭짤한 듯 보이오.^^
